How protected Marketplace strategies work
Marketplace Playbooks are designed to let traders use a creator's eligible trading logic without requiring the creator to disclose the proprietary configuration behind it.
That separation is important for both sides: buyers and renters can use the Playbook through TensorAlgo, while creators can publish a product without turning every condition and parameter into public information.
What stays protected
For eligible Marketplace Playbooks, TensorAlgo does not disclose the creator's protected strategy parameters to buyers, renters, or public Support content.
That can include the detailed conditions, thresholds, sequences, and other proprietary configuration that make up the creator's strategy.
The protection also applies when a user asks Support to reveal the hidden configuration. Public Support can explain how the Playbook behaves as a product, but it does not disclose the creator's protected parameters.
What a buyer or renter can still use
Protection does not mean the Playbook is unusable or invisible.
Depending on the listing and ownership type, a user can still work with the Playbook through the supported product experience, including:
- activating the Playbook when current plan limits allow it;
- seeing the Playbook in the dashboard and relevant lifecycle views;
- reviewing saved Trade History generated through supported use;
- analyzing eligible recorded results in Trade Intelligence Center;
- using the listing information and available verified performance context to evaluate the Marketplace offer.
The exact actions available can differ between rented, purchased, and user-created Playbooks.
Why editing can be restricted
A user-created Playbook can normally be edited according to the account's limits and the builder's supported controls.
A protected Marketplace Playbook can restrict access to the creator's strategy configuration. This prevents a rental or purchase from becoming a way to copy the creator's proprietary rule set.
If Edit is unavailable for a rented or purchased Playbook, that can therefore be expected ownership behavior rather than an account error.
Rental and purchase do not transfer publishing ownership
Renting or purchasing a Marketplace Playbook gives the user the access defined by that Marketplace transaction. It does not make the user the original creator of the strategy.
A rented or purchased Marketplace Playbook cannot be republished by the customer as their own Marketplace listing.
Evaluate the Playbook through evidence
When you cannot inspect the hidden configuration, evaluate the Playbook through the information that is intentionally available:
- read the creator's listing description;
- review the available Marketplace performance context;
- understand the rental or purchase terms shown for the listing;
- use the Playbook within your account limits;
- review your own resulting Trade History and Trade Intelligence evidence over time.
Historical results do not guarantee future performance, and protected logic should not be treated as a substitute for your own risk controls.
If an expected action is missing
Check the Playbook's ownership type first. Actions such as editing, duplicating, deleting, activating, or listing can differ for rented, purchased, system-provided, and user-created Playbooks.
If the action should be available for the shown ownership type but is still missing, open a Support Ticket with the Playbook name, ownership label, and the action you expected to see. Do not request the creator's hidden strategy configuration as part of the ticket.
